The Kam Scholarship
Dear Friend
I would like to tell you a story about a beautiful little boy born to us on a cool spring
day in April. We were so excited when we found out that our new baby was to be a boy. Having to older daughters, lots of new
blue things were being brought home. His sisters were full of excitement.
We named him Kameron.

Kellam was perfect. All ten fingers and toes. But when Kameron was 20 months old, our hopes and dreams for him fell when we
found out that our perfect little boy had severe hearing loss and needed hearing aids. With therapy three to four times a
week in Greensboro, Kameron began saying word and then sentences. He was very active at both church and school. He loved to
play ball and it didn't matter what kind just as long as it was round. He loved it all. He also loved watching the race with
his daddy and would often pretend to be driving a racecar.
December 6, 2003
Kameron had been sick for a couple
of days. After taking him to the hospital on December 5, he was not any better. We decided to take him to Moore Regional Hospital.
In the emergency room they told us Kameron had the flu. We were told to take him home and give him fluids. I pleaded with
the doctor to let us stay. They found Kameron a room. Within 30 minutes after they put him in the room he was gone - the world
stopped
We now want to show how much we loved him and love everyone who helped us during our loss. We have set us
a scholarship fund in Kameron's memory. This is our way of helping another young person in their quest for higher education.
With your help this dream for our son can be fulfilled. Any amount, large or small, will be greatly appreciated.
